Q:
How do I use an instrument plug-in in Digital Performer?
A:
Virtual instruments in Digital Performer 4 (4.1 and higher) can be accessed by going to the PROJECT menu > Add Track > Instrument track. The 'Instruments' pop-up will list any instrument plug-ins you've installed.
Once the instrument plug-in is loaded, DP4's MIDI tracks will have that instrument as a choice on it's OUTPUT assignment. To learn more on using virtual instruments in Digital Performer, check the Digital Performer 4.5 User Guide page 813; Chapter 66 "Virtual Instrument Plug-ins." (Applies to, MachFive, MX4, MSI, Kontakt, Kompakt, Battery, Absynth, Stylus, Trilogy, Atmosphere, SampleTank, Garritan, B4, Pro53)
