Q:
DAE error 6086, 9093, 9094, 9129 when trying to record or playback. MBOX, 002, or 002R. When effected by this issue, Pro Tools is essentially unusable.

A:
Disable CPU throttling. One way to disable CPU throttling is to use the Power Management control panel (Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Power Schemes tab). Selecting the "Always On" power scheme should disable CPU throttling. However, we have seen some laptops where this "Always On" setting does not disable CPU throttling. On other laptops, there may be a BIOS option to make the CPU always run at maximum speed.
