Q:
How do I check the specific version of my MOTU MIDI device driver on a Windows PC?
A:
If you want to check the true version number of the MOTU USB MIDI driver installed on the system, go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and find the file named "motumidi.sys." (Windows may or may not display the .sys extension but the file will always be named "motumidi.")
Right-click on that file, and go to Properties. There you'll find the true version number. If this number is anything other than 1.0.1.2, we would recommend uninstalling MOTU MIDI devices from the Device Manager, uninstalling ClockWorks and other MOTU MIDI software from the Add or Remove Programs control panel, and then using the latest 32-bit MOTU USB MIDI installer from motu.com to reinstall the driver.
