First connect the MIDI out of the Digi device to the the MIDI in on the MPC1000. launch Pro Tools, click on 'Setup', scroll down to MIDI, select 'MIDI beat clock', place a check next to the MIDI out device. Now on the MPC1000, Check to see if the MIDI is in 1 or 2. Press the 'mode' button and then the pad with 'MIDI/Sync' above it. Press the 'F2' key so that the 'Sync' page is displayed. In the 'Sync In' field set the value to the port you connected to either 1 or 2. Now go back to the main screen on the MPC1000 and when you hit play on Pro Tools the field that used to show the tempo should now read '(EXT)'. All done!
