Q:
Two Logic Audio Tips

A:
Today you get two tips for the price of one, both of which relate to Logic Audio and are the result of questions answered by our Technical Support staff. When using Logic 4.7 on a MAC there is a check box in the "MIDI communication" folder that says "Use unified audio and MIDI classic engine." This has been known to cause some timing issues with the sync of normal MIDI information and audio tracks. When Logic 4.7 is loaded, this is set to the "ON" position as a default. Turn this "Off" and you will be able to get the MIDI and audio to sync again. The demo song that comes with Logic Audio Platinum will not play successfully unless you go into the "AUDIO" folder and go to whatever driver you have chosen and uncheck the "MULTI-PROCESSOR support." This feature needs to be off because there is currently a bug in the playback of this file that responds unfavorably to this check box.
