Q:
In a ProTools III system, are the four 56k chips on the Audio Card unused now that the DSP Farm does all the DSP?
A:
Actually, the 56k chips on the Audio Card are still used in a ProTools III system with the DSP Farm. They perform summing mixers for the outputs, output metering, TDM I/O tasks, and overview computation.
