To send MTC from Sesion 8 to Performer 5.02 ( or higher ) you need to have FreeMidi1.23 installed and the FreeMidi OMS Emulator. For Performer to show up as a Time Code destination in Session 8 , Performer MUST be launched prior to launching Session 8!!!

1 - Open FreeMIDI and set Preferences to FreeMIDI applications only. Also select Inter- Application MIDI. Save Changes

2 - Launch Performer and open the file you wish to sync with Session 8. Set receive sync options to inter- application MIDI and MTC/DTLe. Be sure the correct frame rate is set as well. Then set Performer to slave to external sync and press play.

3 - Next, Launch Session 8 and open the file you wish to use. Set TIME CODE destination to Performer 5.02 and bring up the transport controls in Session 8. When you press play , Performer will also play in the background.



NOTE - I did notice that if you are pressing play for the first time after starting both programs, you may have to press stop and then play again. After that it goes every time. You can also "nudge" it by sending MTC to the MTP and then switching back to sending MTC to Performer!
