Q:
How to change SCSI ID on HD
A: In order to change the ID of the hard drive you will need to access the printed circuit board on the bottom of the hard drive. Take the hard drive out of your K2000 and turn it upside down and look at the PC board. Somewhere on the PC board you will find 3 sets of jumper pins (6 pins) labeled A0,A1,and A2. The ID is is set by placing a shorting block across these 3 sets of jumper pins. See the chart below to determine which set of pins to short or open to establish the ID you require. o = open, X = jumper installed (shorted) A0 A1 A2 0 0 0 = ID0 - Normally used for internal boot HD in a MAC. X 0 0 = ID1 0 X 0 = ID2 - USE FOR INTERNAL K2000/K2500 Drives!! X X 0 = ID3 0 0 X = ID4 - This is normally used for CD-ROM X 0 X = ID5 X X 0 = ID6 - K2000 default SCSI ID ( changeable from MIDI receive page) X X X = ID7 - MAC SCSI ID
