Q:
Front Panel PCB replacement

A:

The swap is very easy. I t will take longer to read than perform.

1) Remove the Shuttle Knob. If it resists leave it 'till later. (See step 5)
2) Remove the top cover.
3) Remove three (3) pan head screws from the top of the front cover.
4) Flip unit belly-up. Remove two (2) Flat head screws from the bottom of the front cover.
5) Slip the front cover off the front of the unit. Pick Shuttle knob up off the floor. (See step 1)
6) Set unit on its feet. Unplug two (2) Cables which connect the front panel to the Motherboard PCB. The Motherboard runs vertically and interconnects all of the modules which you access from the rear of the unit. (There is a third cable, whose connector is behind the front panel PCB, but you must remove the PCB to gain access to the connector.)
7) Remove the pan head screws which mount the PCB.
8) Slide the PCB to the left to clear the chassis slot, located above the Red, REC INHIBIT LED. Lift the PCB to gain access to the last cable connector and disconnect he cable.
9) Transfer the following parts to the new PCB:
Counter Display PCB (unplugs)
Meter Display PCB (4 screws and 2 ribbon connectors, at meter)
Shuttle button
Eject Button
10) Reverse steps 8 - 1.
