QuickStart on setting up a Motormix with a ProTools System .
A:
1. Connect Motor Mix MIDI IN and OUT to the MIDI OUT and IN on
one port of your functioning MIDI interface. 2. Make sure that the MotorMix is in "ProTools Mode" by pressing PLAY & ESCAPE on the right side of the unit. This will toggle it on and off. 3. Launch your OMS setup (from ProToools, go to SETUPs menu, and choose OMS Studio Setu) Click once on your Midi Interface Icon and choose "new device" (Under Studio) for the MotorMix. Now choose "CM Automation" for manufactuer and "MotorMix" for Model. Hit "OK". 4. Save your OMS Setup then quit OMS. 5. Launch ProTools and make a New Session. Pull down the "MIDI" menu and select “Input Devices”. Make sure MotorMix is checked. This will enable Pro Tools to receive its MIDI input. 6. Now go to "Setups" menu , then "Peripherals". Select the “Midi Controllers” page. 7. Select “MOTORMIX ” for "TYPE" and "MOTORMIX" for "Recieve from and Send To" Hit "OK" when done. 8. In the MIDI menu, choose Input Devices, and makes sure the Motormix is checked. 9. Create some tracks and then move a Motor Mix fader and the corresponding fader should move in the Pro Tools mix window. SUGGESTION: Each time when you use Pro Tools you should have the Motor Mix powered up first to insure that Motor Mix gets a complete update of your most recent session settings. |
