Why does the US-428 have three MIDI ports (MIDI 1, MIDI 2 and US-428 Control) listed in Device Manager and SetupMME?
A:
MIDI 1 and 2 are (obviously) the US-428’s physical MIDI ports. The US-428 Control port is a virtual MIDI port which the US-428 uses to transmit MIDI controller commands via USB. It needs to be active for the control surface to function
