Q:
I have a Mac and I recently bought a non-brandname CD-ROM drive. It works OK with the Mac but not with my S2000. What am I doing wrong?
A:
Nothing! We suspect that this CD-ROM drive uses an NEC mechanism, as this seems to be the case with the majority of unbranded CD-ROM drives we have looked at. Unfortunately, there is an incompatibility with the NEC CD-ROM drive's firmware that prevents it from being used with Akai samplers.
