Q:
What happens if I lose power in the middle of a session? Do I lose all my tracks since I last saved?
A: No, the tracks will still be there. The MX-2424 updates itself at the end of each take. So, you really don't need to save at all. As a side note to this issue, we do recommend that you get a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) for this recorder. As with any recorder, it is wise to get a surge protected power conditioner, but a UPS takes it one step further, giving you at least a few minutes of battery power when the regular power goes out. All you need is an opportunity to hit stop, and let the MX-2424 save the EDL. (This is barely a second.) Most UPS's also come with guarantees on protecting the connected gear from power surges, so it might be the cheapest insurance you can buy!
