If you have an EIDE, ATA, or DMA hard drive, you’ll be able to run full duplex, 10 channel simultaneous record/play on your Aark 24. These kinds of hard drives generally come standard on most PC’s. You’ll even be able to operate 2 Aark 20/20’s simultaneously, giving you up to 20 channels of I/O!

For ultra fast performance, you can use a SCSI hard-drive with the Aark 24. These are more expensive than the typical hard drive, but the performance is much better.

If you have a standard IDE hard drive, you’ll have a hard time maximizing the potential of your Aark 24. You’ll still be able to make a lot of use of the 24, but will most likely not allow full 10in/10out operation. IDE drives are normally found on older computers.
