Q:
How do I use Cubase PC and MMC with the Midi Timepiece (MTPAV)?
A:
Here are the steps needed in order to get Cubase to recognize the MTPAV and the Adat sync port. The MTPAV must be set to Internal Mode for this to work. If you are unsuccessful with this procedure, try reinitializing the MTPAV by holding down the Panic button while turning the unit on. This will set the MTPAV to it's factory default of Internal/48k. Note: You will lose any user Modifications that you have made to the interface when you perform a hard reset.
1) Under the Options menu, select Synchronization. 2) In the Sync Source box, set the Timecode Base to MMC. From Input should be set to the sync port of the MTPAV. Select any MIDI port for Output. 3) Make sure that the frame rate matches the frame rate setting on the MTPAV. 4) Once all these settings are made, hit the Sync button in the transport window. Now Cubase will issue MMC commands to your MTPAV and slave to the incoming MTC.
