What is the Midi device Roland MPU-401?
A:
This is your built-in audio card's joystick / midi port driver. With the proper adapter, you can get one midi in and one midi out from this. Note: We have found that these devices do not support large streams of midi data, such as System Exclusive (Sys-ex) messages or Midi Time Code (MTC). These types of data seem to get jumbled up going through this type of port.
