A list of drives that have been tested and approved is available from the SUPPORT area of the Akai web site. While these are the only drives that have been tested, they are certainly not the only drives that will work. Most IDE drive should work fine, however we recommend that you check on the return/exchange policy of the
place you purchase your drive, just in case. Larger capacity drive may need to be partitioned in order to use the full storage capacity due to a limitation in the number of files that can be stored in a single partition (approx 8000 files).
