Q:
How do I install Ram into my new G4?
A: 1.Power the Mac down. (leave its AC Cord plugged in for Ground) 2.Open the Mac. 3.Hook up Ground Stap if available , if not, touch the power supply in the Mac case to discharge any static electricity. 4.Locate the existing Ram chip , notice the open slots next to it and how their socket separator is positioned.Spread the tabs at each end of the RAM socket you will use. 5.Match the notch in the bottom of your new chip to line up with the one in the RAM socket. 6.Insert new chip , pressing down with thumbs on each end of chip untill it seats firmly and the tabs snap back up into place , locking in new RAM. 7.Close Mac case and startup the computer. 8.When you are fully booted , go under the apple menu to “About this Computer” Look at the “Built In Memory”. It should total the amount of RAM you have installed. 9.Thats it! Go to work! |
