Q:
What formats/resolution does the ADAT Optical Interface on HD24 support?
A:
Each of the six optical connectors used on the HD24 supports 8-channel, 24-bit, (up to) 48kHz data. In addition, each connector can support 4-channel, 24-bit (up to) 96kHz data. The standard for implementing ADAT Optical at high sample rates has been established by Alesis, and third-party manufacturers are already building converters for this purpose (Panasonic, Swissonic, Agogee, Sonorus and Euphonix to name a few and many more are developing these
devices)
