Why can't I hear the stuff I am recording and the audio playback at the same time.

These are the steps for arming simultaneous record and playback with Cakewalk9
From the (options) tab choose (Audio) From within the Auido Options window choose the (Advanced) tab Check the box next to Simultaneous Record/Playback, this should fix the problem. |
