The DD55 has a 'Hand Percussion' mode which allows it to be played by hand just as bongos or congas are meant to be played.

1) Press the [HAND PERC] button. The LED will illuminate. The Pad Sensitivity is automatically adjusted to be played by hand. Song 94 and Kit 29 are also automatically selected.
