You can set the routing of the effects returns in the Pan 17 -- 24 screen ([PAN] + [F2]) on the AW4416, and the Pan 1 -- 8 screen ([PAN] + [F1]) on the AW2816. Simply assign the dry signal you want to record to the same bus as the effect return.
