Q:
What utility is better for degragmenting and optimizing Mac hard driver? Norton or TechTool Pro.
A:
While both utilities work pretty well, we have had reports that TechToolPro's degfragmenting tool may move or destroy software keys or authorizations.
While we recommend Norton Speed Disk over TechToolPro, we still recommend backing up important data, a removing keys and authorizations before optimizing hard drives (if they are removable.... eg. keydisks) NOTE : Norton utilities only supports, and is effective for, systems running Mac OS 9 or lower.
