Q:
Sequencing with the RD-500 Digital Piano
A:
The RD-500 features 121 high quality sounds ranging from pianos, basses and percussion to rich strings and synth textures. In addition to the many live performance parameters included in the RD-500, it can also function as an 8-Part multitimbral synthesizer for sequencing applications. This allows you to create elaborate arrangements using the rich sounds and effects built-into the RD-500 with an external sequencer.
This document is intended to be a supplement to the Owner's Manual. The manual contains detailed explanations and instructions for all functions of the RD-500. It is highly recommended that you read the manual in it's entirety in order to use the RD-500 to it's fullest potential. Try all the functions as they are described in the manual. When you have completed the manual you will have experienced everything for yourself, and will realize the incredible power of the RD-500 Digital Piano. This document will focus on sequencing with the RD-500 only. To insure that your RD-500 responds correctly to all the procedures outlined in these Supplemental Notes, we recommend that you initialize your RD-500 before proceeding. This process will restore the factory preset settings. Note: If you wish to save any changes you may have made, you must Bulk Dump them to your sequencer and save them to disk before initializing or they will be lost (see Section VI). 1. Hold SETUP MEMORY NUMBERs 1 and 8 while turning on the power. 2. Press YES.
