Q:
Saving the System to a Hard Drive
A:
For faster start-ups when booting the S-760, you can start the S-760 from a hard drive, Syquest removable drive or a Magneto-Optical drive. To do this, use the following steps to put the operating system on a drive.
1. From Performance Play press Mode, move the cursor down to F5 Disk and press S1. 2. You will be in the Disk Mode. Press the Value/Menu knob and move the cursor to (6) Save System and press S1. 3. You will now be on the Save System page. Select the drive you want to save the system on by pressing the S1 button. There will be a display showing what drives are available on your SCSI chain. Select the drive by highlighting it with the cursor up and down buttons and pressing the S1 button. You will come back to the Save System page. Press F3 and "Now Working" will be displayed. When this is completed, remove the System floppy disk from the drive. When you restart the S-760 it will now start from the device that you saved the system on.
