Q:
UPDATING THE VM-C7100/C7200 DIGITAL MIXER WITH STANDARD MIDI FILES

A:
The 7000-Series V-Mixing System can be user-updated
to add new features and to install the latest system
version available from Roland Corporation. The
update is available as 30 Standard MIDI Files.

NOTE: The VM-C7100/C7200 Console and the VM-7100/7200
Processor run on their own respective Operating Systems
and need to be updated seperately.

The tools required are:
1) MIDI sequencer (software or hardware) that can load
and playback Standard Midi Files containing System
Exclusive information. Note: It is convenient to use
a MIDI sequencer that can playback SMF data consecutively.
2) MIDI cable
3) VM-C7100/C7200 V-Mixing System Software update disk(s)
4) VM-C7100/C7200 V-Mixing Console

** VM-C7100/C7200 Console SMF Update Procedure **

1) Use the MIDI cable to connect the MIDI OUT port of
the sequencer to the MIDI IN port of the
VM-C7100/C7200 Console.
2) Hold down [PROJECT](SYSTEM) and [F6] while powering
the console ON. When "****" appears in the LCD
screen, release the buttons.
3) When "Waiting MIDI Exclusive Data" appears in the
display, playback the SMF data in sequential order.
"Receiving MIDI Exclusive Data" appears in the display
for every file received.
4) When all the SMF data has been played back and the
screen displays "Waiting MIDI Exclusive Data", turn
off the power of the VM-C7100/C7200.
5) Reboot (power OFF then ON) to exit the TEST MODE.
