Q:
Q:Why did my S5000 / S6000 create multiple partitions when I formatted my hard drive?
A:
A: The S5000 / S6000 sampler supports FAT16 and FAT32 disk formats. However, in software versions prior to V2.0, when formatting is done directly from the sampler a FAT16 format is used. The FAT 16 disk format supports a maximum partition size of 2 GB, so if your drive is larger than 2 GB and is formatted directly by the sampler it will automatically divide the drive into multiple partitions. Reformatting with OS V2.0 or higher will use the FAT32 format, which can format a single partition up to 32 GB.
