Q:
Is the Aardvark Aardsync II 192kHz compatable? If not, can it be upgraded?
A:
Though the AardSync II can generate 88.2kHz or 96kHz, it cannot generate 192kHz and is not upgradable. The AardSync II has a jumper inside on 2 of it's BNC outputs that will double the rate shown on the front panel to 88.2kHz or 96kHz.
It is important to note, that almost any 96k or 192k gear doesn't need a 96k or 192k word clock to lock to. Most (if not all) will take a 48k (or 96k) word clock and up sample inside the gear. The quality is identical and is much easier to handle all the clocks in the studio. The Digi 192 I/O would rather take a 48k work clock input, which they use as their 'base clock' even if they're doing 192k.
