Q:Why do I get a “DAT-ERROR” message when I try to backup my recording? The backup is longer than a single DAT will hold, but I thought the DR8/DR16 could do this. What’s going on?
 
A:
A: Generally the DR8/DR16 can backup recording across multiple DAT tapes, however there is one limitation. If a single recording is longer than the tape length, the recording cannot be split between two or more tapes.
