Q:
How do you select one of the 30 arp types mentioned in PLG AN manual?

A:
The arpeggios listed in the PLG150-AN manual refer to those created on the AN board itself. In order to select these you would have to use the AN Expert Editor. The way the PLG150 series work is like this:

You are given access to a limited set of parameters to each AN voice via the host product. Those are the "Native" parameters found when you go EDIT/ then you press Program button 1 to view the AN element level parameters.

[Native] will be above one of the Function keys. These parameters are OFFSETS to the real parameters that can only be setup completely in the Editor program. The idea is to create an analog voice from scratch in the editor, set it up so that you can control it live.

Once you have assigned your controllers, picked your arpeggio or written your step sequence, recorded your FREE EG (4 parameters controls) etc. you save it as a bulk file to SmartMedia or SCSI. You program the range of controllers and so forth and leave the voice in a condition so that you can use the OFFSETS to perform the voice live.

The 30 arpeggios are nothing that are not in the Motif arpeggiator - which you can apply to any sound - including the PLG150 series boards. If you look good you will find all thirty in the Motifs ARP which is found in EDIT/ on the COMMON level.

But if you want to mess with the AN's arpeggiator you will need the AN Expert Editor. (You can Switch it on or off, store a new tempo, etc on one that is already assigned - to sync an AN arpeggio with the Motif clock set the AN Native parameter TEMPO = MIDI).
