Tempo is a meta message in MIDI. Tempo Changes can be automated in Pattern Chain mode or in Song mode. Each of these has a dedicated Tempo track.

Pattern mode Sections all share the same (current) tempo. When you are constructing a final mix via Pattern Chain you can record Tempo changes to the tempo track or you can insert them in event edit. Same is true for Song mode
