Q:
Why is the aftertouch not recorded by the sequencer?
A:
The Motif is set to default so that Aftertouch is NOT recorded to the sequencer.
Many people do not realize that when they hit the keyboard hard they will generate aftertouch info. They might record a drum pattern, over dub several tracks with huge amounts of aftertouch data and then wonder why their sequencer is not playing back the notes in time. So we thought it was better to default the sequencer to filter AT. If you want to record aftertouch into the sequencer, from Sequence Mode, press File Mode, F3[Sequencer] SF2 [MIDI filter] and put a check mark in the Channel AT In box. This will allow the Motif sequencer to record aftertouch information.
