Q:
How do you record drum patterns using the Arps?
A:
In PATTERN mode find an empty pattern. Select Track 1 and a desired tempo. Press REC for standby mode and F2 VOICE, Press Category Search and audition drum kits and select one you like. Press F3 ARP. Set Part Sw to ON, and select a drum arp type.
So you are looking for: a desired tempo, a desired drum kit, and a desired drum arp type. In Setup make sure Type is set to REPLACE, Loop to OFF, and quantize to OFF. - Press PLAY and record to Track 1 of your sequence. ----------------------- Once this has been recorded, press PLAY and your sequence will loop automatically. Assuming you like what you hear, you then need to re-record the arp output to your sequence. Press PATTERN REC again, make sure Track 1 is selected, setup type to OVERDUB, now press F4 setting the ARP note icon on. Press PLAY and watch the sequencer record the output of your arpeggio. You are done. Just make sure to go back into REC standby and turn the ARP note icon OFF and you can also turn off the ARP Part Switch. Now you can use the Divide Drum Track feature to separate your midi drum parts for fine tweaking!
