Q:
How do you install the Motif Cakewalk instrument definition?
A:
1. Place .ins file in your main cakewalk directory (you will see other .ins files there).
2. After opening Cakewalk, double click on the "Port", "Chn", "Bank" or, "Patch" sections of a selected track, in the [TRACK] display. 3. Click on [INSTRUMENTS]. 4. Click on [DEFINE]. 5. Click [IMPORT] and go to the Cakewalk directory. 6. Select the .ins file (it should be in the list in the left window) and then Click on [OPEN]. Select the .ins file by highlighting it and click [OK]. 7. After the file has been imported click on [CLOSE]. 8. Select which PORT or PORTS you wish the new definition to define in the left window (if the S80 is your only MIDI device then select them all). Select the definition you wish to use in the right window. 9. Click [OK]. 10. Track Properties should now allow you to access the Bank and Patch numbers of the instrument definition you have imported.
