Q:
How do I route DP's internal metronome to my firewire audio interface's (828, 896...) outputs?
A:
Start by quitting all applications, including Digital Performer. Be sure that the MOTU firewire interface (896, 828, etc..) is turned on.
1. From the Apple menu, choose Control Panels >>> MOTU Firewire Audio. 2. In the control panel, make sure "Enable Sound Manager Driver" is turned ON. Also make sure that your main outs (usually Analog 1-2) are selected next to this option. 3. Click OK to close the MOTU Firewire Audio control panel. 4. Launch Digital Performer, and open a Project. 5. Double-click the metronome button on DP's control panel to open Click options (or choose "Click and countoff options from the BASIC's menu). 6. Be sure "Source of Click" is set to Internal Speaker. select "Audition Click" to see if it's working... you should see meters on your audio interface, and hear it through the outputs you designated in step #2 above.
