Q:
How do I reset the KSP8?
A:
Reset
Press the Reset soft button to perform a hard or soft reset of your KSP8. You can also access the KSP8 Boot Block from this page. Loader Press the Loader soft button to reach the KSP8 Boot Block. See Appendix E for complete information on the KSP8 Boot Block. Soft Reset A soft reset is essentially like turning your unit off then on again. The KSP8’s battery-backed memory will not be erased, so any objects you’ve created, such as presets, chains, or studios, will still be there for you after you perform the soft reset. Here’s a shortcut: You can also perform a soft reset without going to the Master page by simultaneously press the +/-, 0, and clear buttons on the alphanumeric keypad. Hard Reset A hard reset is a much more serious matter than a soft reset, so the KSP8 will give you a couple of chances to back out of this operation if you change your mind at the last minute. This type of reset reinitializes everything inside the KSP8, including the battery-backed memory. This means that any custom objects you’ve created will go away. You should always back up (to SmartMedia card or via a SysEx dump) any objects you want to save before you perform a hard reset. Generally you’ll only perform a hard reset after you’ve upgraded certain pieces of the KSP8’s system, when you’re totally hosed, or if you’re absolutely certain that you’d like to return the KSP8 to the state it was in before you started screwing around with stuff.
