Problems using more than one Companion on the same computer

A:
* NOT FOR PUBLIC - INTERNAL USE ONLY *
Certain Serial Numbers falling between GLY042395 through GLY043158 Glyph Quality Assurance identified an error. Through the efforts of the Glyph Quality Assurance Program we discovered a FireWire ID firmware-programming error in a limited number of our Companion Hard Disk Drives. The units shipped from our factory between May 29 and July 11, 2002. There is no risk to your data. A single Companion connected to your computer, with a serial number within the range listed above will function properly. When two or more Companions (with a serial number within the range specified above) are connected to your computer, only one Companion will be recognized by your computer’s operating system. When any single Companion is connected to your computer, the drive will function normally. Because of an ID conflict, the issue occurs only when two or more affected Companions are connected to your computer at the same time. What should you do? It’s easy: 1. Locate the serial number on the bottom of your Companion(s). 2. Call our toll free number 1(800) 335-0345. 3. Tell us your serial number and we will confirm if you need the update. If you own a single Companion within the range of serial numbers listed above, do not be concerned, your Companion will functionally normally. If you would like to update your Companion, Glyph will gladly make arrangements to update or replace (at our discretion) your Companion. If you own two or more Companions in the serial number range listed above, please contact us at your earliest convenience. Glyph will gladly make arrangements to, update or replace (at our discretion) your Companion. A small number of Companions within the range of serial numbers are affected, so please call us to confirm if yours is one of them. It only takes a minute.
