Q:
Using the USB3's ASIO driver for Mac.
A:
Here are instructions (notably absent from the download) on how to use the USB3's ASIO driver for Mac.
* The current driver as of 7/31/02, is compatible with OS9.1 or 9.2 only. Earlier versions, or OSX are not supported. 1. Download the ASIO Mac driver from www.aardvarkaudio.com The file you download will be called "usb3_asio_mac3" 2. Expand the file with Stuffit expander. This is commonly found in, Applications >>> Aladdin Folder >> Stuffit Expander (folder) If you don't have expander, you can download it from aladdinsys.com 3. Expanding the file "usb3_asio_mac3" should create a new folder called "Aardvark". The contents of the folder will be "Aardvark USB 3 ASIO" and "PGAardvarkUSB3" 4. Drag "PGAardvarkUSB3" into the Extensions folder, located inside the System Folder. 5. Drag "Aardvark USB 3 ASIO" into the "ASIO Drivers" folder in your Sequencing/Recording application's folder. For example, drag the file into : Macintosh HD >>> Digital Performer 3.0 folder >>> ASIO Drivers. 6. Launch your application, and set it's audio hardware to use ASIO USB3.
