Apple CD player plays back for several seconds and then the output is static.

Trash apple CD player prefs, sound prefs, CD/dvd prefs,digisetup.

1. Quit all applications.
2. Open the Macintosh HD
3. Find and open the System Folder
4. Inside the System Folder, find and open "Preferences"
5. Locate the following items and drag them into the trash:

Apple CD Player Prefs
Sound Prefs
CD/DVD Prefs
Digisetup

6. Restart the computer.
