Q:
I want to practice recording a track in Digidesign Pro Tools while hearing my previously recorded material, and I want to hear myself in the mix, but don't want to record it yet. What are my options?
A:
You can go to Operations - Input Monitor Only, and it will monitor your input whenever the track is record enabled. Or, you can create an Aux track under File - New - Track - Aux track, and set the input to be you and the output to be the main mix, which should be the default.
