Q:
How do I use Cakewalk or Sonar Session Drummer?
A:
While Session Drummer is open, you can press F1 to bring up context sensitive help.
To apply Session Drummer as a real-time effect: 1. Start a new file 2. From the main toolbar, click the Console view button 3. Right-click in gray space below the Aux Buss area and choose Add MIDI Track. A new module appears. 4. Right-click in the Effects Patch area (the black window just below the text field at the top of the module). 5. Choose Cakewalk FX - Session Drummer 6. Double-click on the Session Drummer plug-in 7. Choose a style from the top left pane. When you do so, a list of patterns will appear in the pattern pane. 8. Click on a pattern in the pattern pane. 9. In the Cakewalk Toolbar, click the play button. The selected pattern will repeat over and over (like a drum machine) as long as the play button is engaged. Tip: You can save yourself a few steps (1 - 5 above) by loading the Session Drummer template from the New Project dialog.
