Q:
M/W: Settings, Plug-ins and drivers missing since 5.1 update
A:
Product: Platinum
Version: 5.1 Description: Since having updated from 5.0 to 5.1 all VST Plug-ins, Sampler Instruments and manually created Plug-in settings are gone. The Autoload is not loaded. In some cases (Mac only) even the driver of the audio hardware is not be found. Explanation: The 5.1 Update installs a new folder called "Logic 5 Series" (Mac) or "Logic 5" (PC). The version 5.0 was installed into a folder called "Logic Platinum 5". Therefore the following files/folders do not have any content or do not exist at all: - Autoload - Sampler Instruments - Emagic Plug-in Settings - VST Plug Ins - ASIO and EASI drivers (Mac only) Suggestion: There are three ways to resolve of this: 1. Copy the needed files/folders from your 5.0 folder into the 5.1 folder (recommended). 2. (only valid for the folders "Sampler Instruments" and "VST Plug-ins") Create aliases in your 5.1 folder, that point to the folders in your 5.0 folder. 3. Delete the folders "ASIO Drivers", "EASI Drivers" (Mac only) and "Plug In Settings", "Sampler Instruments" in your 5.1 folder. Now move the whole folder-content from the 5.1 folder to your 5.0 folder. Duplicate files will be replaced by their newer versions.
