Loading SampleTank into a Pro Tools session
Create a new stereo audio track in the Pro Tools session and insert
SampleTank RTAS as the first plug-in on the Pro Tools Mixer
If you ’re running Pro Tools LE, SampleTank RTAS can be inserted on an AUX
channel; so you do not need to lose one of the 24 audio tracks that the LE
system allows.
On MIX|24 or HD systems the RTAS plugin cannot be inserted on an AUX
channel, so a stereo voice is used for each module of SampleTank. Of
course the number of tracks is not limited here,making the issue much less
relevant.
SampleTank cannot be started as a “mono to stereo ” plug-in so the audio
track that will host SampleTank must be stereo.
When first you open SampleTank you are prompted to select the
“SampleTank Instruments” folder. This is the folder where SampleTank finds
the instruments.
If you used the default path during installation, the SampleTank
Instruments folder is in the IK Multimedia folder at the first level of our
startup disk (usually Macintosh HD). This folder can actually be placed
wherever you like, even on a different disk.
If SampleTank does not prompt for the instruments folde, it may be that it
was selected previously, for example running a demo of SampleTank in the
past. To select a new root folder for the instruments simply click the button
ROOT on the SampleTank interface.
