Q:
: Loading samples takes a long time
A:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Product: Platinum, Gold, Silver, EXSP24 Version: all Description: A FireWire volume is mounted. The samples for the EXS24 are on that drive. When loading a Sampler Instrument it takes very long for the Samples to be found. As long as Logic is active loading this samples is quick. But after restarting it takes long again. Explanation: It is likely the FireWire Volume is named exactly the same as an internal drive. When loading Samples for the first time, the EXS24 writes the path to the samples into the Sampler Instrument. As long as Logic is active it "knows the direct path" to the samples. After a restart it can only read the path from the Sampler Instrument. As the path exists twice it has to search again. Solution: Please make sure to give every drive a unique name. Note: If a drive can not be renamed, file sharing in probably running.
