You do not need to as all the drum arpeggios were taken from the 128 preset drum patterns.

However if you wanted to this go to pattern record, set the loop mode to off (so the pattern does not loop around and arpeggiate itself) and make sure the note icon is displayed on F4 (the second arp button).

This determines whether the Motif records the triggers for the arp (what you play on the keyboard) or the output of the arpeggiator (when the note icon is displayed).
