Q:
Sometimes when I use ‘MIDI Notes mode’, if I am using a four voice harmony setup and I’m only triggering one or two harmonies at a time, the voices will switch genders. If my gender settings are different, a single line in voice 3 may get assigned to voice 1, resulting in a sudden change in timbre. How can I keep my voice sounds the same, whether I am using one harmony line, or all four…with different genders, and within the same song?
A:
Again, as above, If you use ‘MIDI Notes 4ch mode, you can assign each of the harmony voices to receive its own MIDI information on a separate channel. This preserves any gender or effects assignments you make to the harmony voices individually. You then just need to make sure you are sending the right MIDI information to each voice, in terms of range, panning, etc.
