Q:
How do I format a SmartMedia card on my CS6X?
A:
Before using a new SmartMedia Card, or to clear all existing data, the SmartMedia Card must first be formatted.
NOTE: The card must be 3V (3.3 Volts) and can be found with memory of 2MB, 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, and 32MB. WARNING: All user-stored data on the SmartMedia Card will be deleted. 1) With the power turned OFF, insert a SmartMedia Card into the '3.3V Card' slot. NOTE: The card can also be inserted with the power ON, but any non-saved edits on the S80 will be erased. 2) Turn ON the power. 3) Press the [CARD] button to enter 'Card' mode. 4) Turn the (PAGE) knob until 'Format' is displayed on the left side of the screen. 5) Press the [ENTER] button. 6) Press the [INC/YES] button. Formatting of the card will begin.
