Q:
How do you transfer SMFs to the smartmedia card?
A:
There are two ways to get SMFs on to the Smart Media card.
Motif comes with an application on the Motif CDROM called DATA filer. You can use this to send files from a computer to the Smart Media card inserted in a Motif via either a MIDI cable or a USB cable. We think the best way is to get a Smart Media adapter. These are inexpensive devices which connect to the USB port on your computer. Then you can just drag and drop files from your computer on to the card and then insert the card into Motif. The advantage is speed, the Data filer uses MIDI to send the information so it can take time. The Smart media adapter is very quick. You can see how quick in the SCSI Speed tests at the top of the page.
