Q:
How do I send Midi Machine Control (MMC) from Steinberg Cubase to start Midi Time Code (MTC) on a MOTU Midi Timepiece AV? I want to use the MTPAV as the timecode generator.
A:
The MOTU Midi TImepiece AV's default settings are preset to do this, so you need not worry about its settings.
In CubaseSL/SX, go to Transport - Sync Setup and set the following: Timecode Source: MIDI Timecode Machine Control: MIDI Machine Control MIDI Machine Control Settings: Input: Not Connected Output: Port 1 on MTPAV MIDI Timecode Settings: Input: MTPAV: SYNC/ADAT Send MIDI Timecode: * none selected Send MIDI Clock: * none selected Make sure on your Transport that Sync is highlighted (or press T)
