MPC3000 uses custom memory Akai part #EXM3002 (2Mb card) and part #EXM3008 (8Mb card) and ALSO has 2 SIMM sockets - Uses 30 pin SIMM1 or SIMM470 @ 80nS or faster - there is no specific order in which to install - in other words you don’t have to install the Akai board before you add SIMMs, or visa versa - 2Mb stock (one EXM3002 installed into the one and only EXM type expansion slot ) - 3 memory slots total (1 slot for Akai boards and 2 for SIMMs) - Can be updated to 16Mb via one 8Mb expander board (EXM3008) and two SIMM470 chips.
